Professional experience

Ann-Maree started her professional career with Deloitte in their audit division then with Hungerfords (now KPMG) in their taxation and business services division. The next part of her career was furthered in various commercial accounting roles, within Top 100 listed company Amatil Ltd.

This experience has strengthened her understanding of accounting systems and controls and enhanced her appreciation of the pressures and issues facing audit clients. Ann-Maree now uses the expertise gained in commercial accounting to assist clients in various business and financial matters.

Upon the retirement of Richard Robertson in 1989, Ann-Maree joined Robertsons Chartered Accountants, initially in business services undertaking a few small audits.

Her clients at Nexia Australia include ASX listed public companies, large public unlisted and proprietary companies and associations across a range of industries including exploration, hospitality, aged care, construction, not-for-profit, financial services, manufacturing and food processing. Her involvement in the audit division has been instrumental in its growth. Today this division services over 100 audit clients across all industry groups.

Martin Olde

Martin Olde

Martin is the Accounting & Audit Technical Director for Nexia A&NZ and leads Nexia Australia'a Financial Reporting Advisory service. Martin is responsible for providing advice to clients and staff on the application and interpretation of Australian & NZ financial reporting requirements.

Professional experience

Martin is responsible for providing advice to clients and staff on the application and interpretation of Australian & NZ financial reporting requirements, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), monitoring financial reporting developments, formulating accounting policy and interpretations, and delivering relevant training to clients and staff. 

Martin brings over 25 years’ experience working with major Australian listed companies, emerging companies, not-for-profit and public sector entities. Prior to joining Nexia, Martin was a technical accounting partner at a Big 4 accounting firm in Sydney.

Martin has provided accounting advice and assistance to clients in a wide range of industries including the education, not-for-profit, property and construction, manufacturing, retail, services and resource sectors.

He has provided accounting advice and assistance to higher education and public sectors in NSW for many years and regularly presents on new and emerging financial reporting issues to clients, staff and industry associations.

Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney

Sarah has a particular flair for assessing her clients’ business needs and providing recommendations that maximise opportunities for them.

In some cases, she actually manages the client’s finance department – a unique and quite privileged position because it requires a deep understanding of the business and its culture.

She has worked across multiple accounting software platforms, including clients’ customised software. She also understands governance practices and has been involved in the appointment of board members to a number of non-profit organisations.

Sarah works with clients to have an understanding of their business beyond purely financial matters so that she can assist them in all aspects of business. This commitment to her clients means that Sarah has a holistic approach to providing solutions for her clients to achieve their goals.

Qualifications

Sarah has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of Adelaide, is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Chartered Tax Adviser of The Tax Institute.

Sarah has extensive experience in assisting with the preparation and analysis of monthly reporting, budgeting, cash flow management and compliance. She helps a number of not-for-profit organisations with their reporting and taxation requirements.

Sarah has managed the internal finance functions for Nexia Edwards Marshall and two of its clients and also has expertise in payroll processing.

Virtual CFO

Transitioning to an outsourced finance function can be a difficult process, so Sarah works with clients every step of the way and builds a strong understanding of their organisation. She takes care of everything from determining the best outsourcing approach to managing new procedures and ensuring a seamless transition.

Software

Sarah uses her knowledge of software programs to help clients get more out of their current program, or move to a more effective and appropriate platform. She has sound knowledge of MYOB, Reckon and Xero, as well as more customised platforms.
