Starting in the industry young, Scott has spent most of his career in accounting practices before joining Nexia Melbourne in January 2006.

Scott became manager within his first 12 months and the youngest director of Nexia Melbourne at the age of 33. He has plenty of passion, prowess and particular interest in helping clients to strengthen, build and improve their business, making himself available every step of the way.

As head of Business Advisory, Scott leads a team of dedicated professionals in assisting businesses with strategic and taxation planning, profit and cash-flow improvement activities, valuations and business improvement strategies.

Hard working and dynamic, Scott is also down to earth, making particular effort to understand his clients both personally and professionally, building long term business relationships to help them on their journey toward financial success.

Hugh is a long standing contributor to the Australian accounting profession through his involvement in the activities of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, and the legal profession through his membership of the Law Society of South Australia, Family Law Committee.

Some of Hugh’s greatest successes have arisen in matters in which disputes have been able to be resolved, rather than the parties becoming embroiled in ongoing expensive and protracted litigation.

Grantley works closely with a number of clients to improve their businesses. His passion and enthusiasm coupled with his strong interpersonal skills allow him to work with clients to achieve their goals through a holistic approach.

Grantley enjoys leading workshops to discuss, plan and then assist with the implementation of the strategic plan to achieve the goals of the clients. Strong ongoing management reporting and prioritising key performance indicators play a key role in achieving these plans as well as ensuring that information is communicated in a method that the client is able to understand and apply the information provided to them.

He also provides detailed strategic taxation advice in various management consulting assignments, in particular performing due diligence and business valuations.

Structuring

He is often called on for his expertise to undertake comprehensive reviews of business structures to ensure key asset protection and successful family succession in a tax-effective manner. In doing this Grantley considers the tax and accounting implications as well as the impacts any potential change could have on the organisation.

Corporate governance

Through Grantley’s significant board experience he has strengthened his corporate governance expertise. He currently is a director of Greyhound Racing SA Ltd and is the company secretary for the Alexander & Symonds Group as well as being a key adviser to our larger clients on all elements of their business.

His reputation within the Taxation field is highlighted by his past appointments within The Tax Institute including Chair of State Council and Chair National Education Committee.

Noel is an experienced audit practitioner with a variety of clients and specialises in educational institutions, not for profits, manufacturing entities, retail entities, Aboriginal corporations, wineries, service and support entities and superannuation funds.

He has also worked on litigation engagements involving audit-related matters and been a member of various audit committees and boards for corporate and not-for-profit entities. 

Noel approaches each engagement with an attitude to having a complete understanding of the organisation; its operations, business structure, systems, transaction flows and risks. Contemporary assurance services require an understanding of and a strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards and required reporting compliance framework. He is currently Director and Treasurer of CanDo4Kids – Townsend House Inc and CanDo Internet Inc and The Royal South Australian Deaf Society. In addition Noel also acts as company secretary for a number of companies and has an understanding of their corporate governance responsibilities.

Noel has been involved in the audit of Colleges and Schools throughout his career and has an extensive client portfolio of Colleges and Schools which operate in South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory.

Jamie undertakes assurance engagements for a large number of clients across a range of industries. In addition to Jamie’s audit roles, he is an experienced company secretary. Jamie was the company secretary for an ASX listed entity for many years, providing governance and financial advice during that time. Jamie is a former board member of the Nurses Board of South Australia and the Repatriation General Hospital.

Brett is a multi-disciplinary accounting and assurance professional with experience in both industry and practice specialising in energy and resources, assurance and risk, portfolio and planning and information systems.

Brett was employed with Santos Ltd for more than ten years in various roles including Manager Finance at Eastern Australia Business Unit. During his employment at Santos, Brett undertook project team roles as part of Santos’ Oracle ERP implementation and 2003 organisation restructure. In addition Brett undertook project manager roles for two major IT projects centred on production and greenhouse data management and gas nominations and contracting.
